Churning of the 'milky ocean' to the ancients meant the 'Mahabharata war' that goes on in the minds of human bignes, which, after 'tapasya' or 'heating', makes the 'essence' or cream to rise to the top, i.e., the activation of the 'Kundalini'... I further give below my reaction to views on Neuroscientists Vs the Dalai Lama in a newspaper: Man is known by the company he keeps , was proved by the reported finding of Ramu the wolf boy' a few years ago - who only howled like a wolf - the lesson forgotten even within short time Human brain is marvelous and yet it is like a sword in the hand of a monkey' today (vide Panchtantra') The unspoken words of the Panchabhootas', despite Tsunamis, Hurricanes, earthquakes, and so on, are drowned in the howl of the present day man who egoistically believes himself superior to Nature' To the ancient wise' men or Yogis, meditation meant reaching the Zero', the dot' that rests in zero time & (dark) space. The Truth the scientists' seek is like the needle that was lost in a dark place. Wouldn't it therefore be foolish if one seeks it only where there is light, the material' side? The mighty USA is seen surrendering before Sudershan Chakra-like' Ma Katrina, Ma Rita, Ma Wilma, and so on. In a way it is the demonical way of surrender to Krishna whereas the wise' ancients suggested surrender to 'Krishna the Absolute Knowledge' that apparently is still very distant from present day Scientists' who do not believe in Yoga or union of the so- called material' and the spiritual' Tamso ma jyotirgamaya/ Asato ma sadgamaya/ Mrityor ma amritamgamaya , i.e., Lead the kindly light, etc , prayed the wise' ancients based on knowledge and ultimate realization of a single formless Creator responsible for the illusory physical forms of the universe or Brahmand' the Creator's egg! Anyway, let us, i.e., Him, enjoy the fooling as long as it lasts!
